Tips Lead To Meth Lab Bust

BY JEN GIBSON, Times-Union Staff Writer

Two anonymous tips led the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force to an illegal methamphetamine lab near Sellers Lake Friday.

According to the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, when officers arrived at 5836 S. East Channel Road, Pierceton, they smelled a strong odor of ether.

Upon further investigation, officers found an illegal drug lab and precursors associated with making meth.

When police went in the residence, Sandy K. Heyse, 46, and Lauren K. Parsons, 24, as well as Parsons’ infant child were inside.

Further investigation showed Joseph Henry Hough, 27, and Chris W. Mussleman, 38, allegedly were involved with the lab.

No arrests have been made, but the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force still is investigating the incident.

The Child Protective Services office was contacted because of the presence of the infant in the home.

The information gathered in the investigation will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Warrants will be requested for charges of possession of an illegal drug laboratory.

Anyone who suspects a methamphetamine laboratory is operating in their community should contact the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force at 574-372-2494.
