02-15-2007SYRACUSE – Due to the storm that passed through the area on Tuesday, the regularly scheduled Wawasee Community School Corp. meeting was held at an earlier time and cut short.
The board accepted the resignation of Katie Guillot, and hired Dennis Dubuois as custodian for Wawasee High School.ÊChristina Sasserman has been hired as a temporary Title 1 paraprofessional.
In other personnel actions, the resignation of Amy Gilbert was accepted, and the board also approved leave time for Stacey McCaully and Rebecca Nguyen.
The Wawasee Community Educator’s Association has been approved as the exclusive bargaining representative for the district’s teacher.Ê
Superintendent Dr. Mark Stock presented the board with information regarding the Wawasee Community Education Fund.ÊThis is a fund that will be used to provide teachers with what amounts to a small grant for help in the purchasing of additional classroom supplies, and to provide for additional classroom activities.ÊApproval was granted by the board to begin developing this fund.
The board also granted approval to begin advertising for bids on work to be done during the summer.ÊThere are between 15 to 20 various projects the district wants to see completed during the summer break, ranging from repairs and renovation, mechanical work, engineering projects, and maintenance.ÊFurther information will be available soon.Ê
