Work Continues On ‘North 15 Commons’

A new strip mall that will feature a tanning salon and cigar store, and has space available for six other businesses, will open in March in Warsaw.

Construction Management and Design Inc., Plymouth, broke ground on the project in August and the two businesses will open in March and April, according to CMD President Alan Collins.

Construction of the 24,000-square-foot stripmall, called “North 15 Commons,” will be located on Ind. 15S, south of U.S. 30 at Enterprise Drive.

“We felt this location would be highly desirable for local businesses in Warsaw that want to upgrade new space in a centrally located, high-traffic area,” Collins said.

Two businesses, both new to Warsaw, have already leased space at North 15 Commons.

Warsaw Tanning Company will offer 25 tanning beds and a full line of tanning products. The principal owner, Jason Stahl, has three other tanning salons located in Indiana. It will open in March.

The second business is Angelina’s Cigars, which has another location in Plymouth, and is owned by Collins. It will open in April.

The business will have a public smoking lounge and a private VIP smoking lounge with private humidors available for annual membership fees. It will sell premium, handmade cigars as well as pipes, and will feature one of the state’s largest walk-in humidors, Collins said. The store also will offer gift items and candy from The South Bend Chocolate Company.

“With the steady increase in smoking bans, there are fewer and fewer places to buy high-quality cigars and even fewer places left to enjoy them,” Collins said.

Collins said at this stage, space easily can be customized for any business by finishing one of the remaining units to a business owner’s specifications.

CMD has developed three other commercial and retail properties in Warsaw in the past three years, and developed the 96-unit Lakeland Villa Apartments across from Edgewood Middle School.
