02-23-2007Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Old 30 in Warsaw Thursday night.
According to a witness statement from an accident report at the Warsaw Police Department, Donald A. Dalton III, 58, of Little Eagle Drive, Warsaw, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a 2006 Dodge Charger slowing down to stop at a traffic light around 7:03 p.m. Thursday.
Dalton reportedly was approaching the light and tried to change lanes but hit the Charger, driven by Fred L. Henderson, 54, of Osceola, causing it to hit a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Rocco C. Spears, 38, Indiana Street, Pierceton.
After hitting the Blazer, the Charger spun into the eastbound lane of U.S. 30.
Henderson suffered hip injury and was transported from the scene by an ambulance.
Dalton’s Tahoe also spun in the roadway after colliding with Henderson’s car. Dalton was trapped in his vehicle and complained of neck pain after the accident.
Damage from the accident is estimated between $50,000 and $100,000. The accident remains under investigation by the Warsaw Police Department.
