SYRACUSE –ÊThe Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident of alleged sexual battery against a teen in Syracuse.

According to a report filed in the sheriff’s department, a 19-year-old Syracuse woman reportedly was fondled by a family member while she was at his house.

Around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, the teen said she went to her brother-in-law’s house for lunch. While she was there, he allegedly gave her an alcoholic beverage and they smoked cigarettes while watching television.

After telling the girl he thought she was attractive, he reportedly asked to kiss her. When she told him no, he allegedly asked several more times, then kissed her on the cheek and began to rub her thigh. The girl moved the man’s hand away from her thigh and he reportedly began kissing her on the neck and tried to fondle her breasts. She pushed his hand away and told him no again and left the house around 1:15 p.m.

As she left, the man reportedly told her he was sorry and asked her not to say anything about the incident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
