BY JEN GIBSON, Times-Union Staff Writer

A juvenile girl was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after being shot while at Center Lake Park Saturday night.

Around 10:37 p.m. Saturday, the girl, 14, was standing outside Center Lake Pavilion when a shot from a dark blue Dodge Durango hit her in the leg. The girl was at Center Lake Pavilion for a birthday party.

One shotgun pellet was removed from the girl’s leg at KCH, then she was transported to Lutheran Hospital for the removal of other deeper pellets.

The girl and another juvenile girl, 16, gave police a description of two Hispanic men with very short or shaved hair inside a dark blue Dodge Durango.

Shortly after the incident, two Hispanic men matching the victims’ descriptions were stopped in a dark blue Dodge Durango.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, Jonathan Aramburo, 18, of 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and Sandro Piedra, aka Franco Garcia, 18, of 329 Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw, were arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for possession of narcotic drugs/cocaine and aggravated battery. Aramburo is being held without bond, while Piedra’s bond was set at $200,000.

Once the vehicle was stopped, police got a warrant and performed a search. Shells for a 12-gauge shotgun, two ounces of cocaine and items used for dealing cocaine, including bags and scales, were found inside the Durango.

No reason was given for the shooting, and the incident remains under investigation by the Warsaw Police Department.
