Eherenmans To Head Kosciuszko SAR Chapter

BY TERESA SMITH, Times-Union Staff Writer

“Washington” is an unusual middle name, but Phil Eherenman and his son, Robert, have it for a reason. These Eherenmans can trace their lineage to George Washington and to three generations previous to the then- fledgling country’s first president.

To honor this heritage, the Eherenmans decided to establish the Thaddeus Kosciuszko Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

The Indiana Society of the Sons approved formation of the local chapter in November and its bylaws and constitution in January.

Robert was sworn in as TKC-SAR president in the Warsaw Community Public Library Indiana Room Tuesday, and Phil is president-elect.

Other local “sons of the revolution” with an eye toward membership included Bill Dalton, Ken Locke and Dan Minear.

Former resident Chuck Bragg, now of Fishers, is the Indiana SAR registrar. He conducted the first meeting, installing officers and setting the next meeting for June 2, at 6 p.m. at Cool Beans Espresso, 119 S. Buffalo St. in Warsaw. A program on a Revolutionary War figure or event will be given.

INSSAR President Roger Barnhart presented the new chapter.

SAR members can trace their lineage to a Revolutionary War-era patriot, solider or civil servant. For mor information, call Phil Eherenman, 267-3992.
