05-25-2006The American Legion Post 49 will conduct Memorial Day services at the Kosciusko County War Memorial and Oakwood Cemetery. The Kosciusko Co. War Memorial ceremony starts Monday at 9:30 a.m. and the Oakwood Cemetery service begins at 10:45 a.m. The Color Guard, Firing Squad and other organizational units will form near the Oakwood Cemetery office and march to the bandstand beginning at 11:00 a.m. The annual American Legion lunch follows at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial Day ceremonies in Etna Green start at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 28. All churches will meet at the Etna Green United Methodist Church for a morning ceremony honoring all servicemen. After the service a parade will start, beginning at SR 19 and ending at the Etna Green Cemetery. Another service will follow.
May 29 the parade in Leesburg is set to start at 10:30 a.m. and begins with a ceremony at the Leesburg cemetery.
Sunday, May 28 the American Legion in Mentone will host a parade starting at 1:45 p.m. and beginning at the Youth Building near the cemetery. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
A Veteran’s Ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27 in Silver Lake. The ceremony will be held at Lakeview Cemetery and is sponsored by the Lion’s Club.
The Milford parade will be held Monday, May 29 starting at 10:00 a.m. on Emeline St. in Milford. Free Weekend garage sales are also set for Memorial Day weekend in Milford.
Syrcause will hold a parade at 11:00 a.m. on May 29 beginning on Boston St.
A Memorial Day parade organized by American Legion Post 258 is set for May 29, beginning at the Pierceton Elementary School and ending in Brower Park.
The fifth annual Dewart Lake Memorial Day Weekend Flotilla will take place Sunday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. Boats decorated in different themes will float clockwise around the lake and end in bay next to the public access. For any questions please give call Larry Gill at 574-658-9332.
