A Leesburg teenager was arrested Friday during the Warsaw Community High School graduation ceremony for allegedly having marijuana in his possession.

Blakely Mathew Jones, 19, of 305 E. Prairie St., was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 9:16 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was later released after posting $450 bond.

According to a Warsaw Police Department report, Jones was one of four males who entered the high school late for the graduation ceremony. An administrator at the high school told police the foursome smelled of smoke or alcohol and, when questioned, all four admitted to smoking marijuana in Jones’ car en route to the school.

A subsequent search of Jones’ car turned up two partially burned marijuana cigarettes and cigarette rolling papers, police said.

Dr. Jennifer Brumfield, WCHS principal, said Jones was not a student at the school and was not taking part in the graduation.

No charges were filed against the other three teens, according to the report.
