12 Vie For 2003 4-H Royalty

There are five 4-H Queen candidates and seven 4-H King candidates this year. The royalty will be named during the Kosciusko County Fashion Revue July 17 at 7 p.m. The event has been moved to Wawasee High School auditorium this year.

Candidates, who participate on a voluntary basis, are eligible based on the number of points they have in 4-H, and must be in their eighth, ninth or 10th year of participation.

The court is selected from the top 10 male and 10 female point earners. Points are accumulated through project completion, serving as a club officer and community service for the club, among other things.

This year’s queen candidates are:

• Laura Lash of Mentone, the daughter of John and Darlene Lash. She is a Mentone United 4-H Club member and a student at Tippecanoe Valley High School.

• Katie Darr of Syracuse is the daughter of Dennis and Leslie Darr. She is a member of the Syracuse Community Hands 4-H Club and a Wawasee High School student.

• Hayley Wertenberger, Claypool, is the daughter of Mike and Jill Wertenberger. She is a member of the Silver Lake Rambling Farmers 4-H Club and a student at Warsaw Community High School.

• Crystal McCoomb, Larwill, is the daughter of Jim and Shannon McCoomb. She is a member of the Pierceton Hayseeds and a home school graduate.

• Kara Anderson, Silver Lake, is the daughter of Dennis and Mary Anderson. She is a member of Burket Country Neighbors and a TVHS student.

King candidates are:

• Marc Roberts, Syracuse, the son of Jon and Betty Jo Roberts. He is a member of the Syracuse Community Hands 4-H Club and a WHS student.

• Eric Camden, Pierceton, is the son of John and Vicki Camden. He is a member of the Pierceton Hayseeds 4-H Club and a Whitko High School student.

• Jason Harrold, Akron, is the son of Richard and Vicki Harrold. He is a member of the Beaver Dam Better 4-H’ers and a TVHS student.

• Jeremy Schroeder, Warsaw, is the son of Ot and Debbie Schroeder. He is a member of the Kosciusko County 4-H Goat Club and a WCHS student.

• Brent Lamb, Milford, is the son of Bruce and Beth Lamb. He is a member of the Milford Helping Hands 4-H Club and Kosciusko County 4-H Jr. Leaders. He is a WHS student.

William Harman, Leesburg, is the son of Duane and Connie Harman. He is a member of the Atwood Neverquitters 4-H Club and a student at Lakeland Christian Academy.

Bradley Clayton, North Webster, is the son of Ed and Judy Clayton. He is a member of the Wee Webster Workers and the Kosciusko Rabbit Club. he is a WHS student.
