Chase Leads To Arrest

NORTH WEBSTER –ÊA Warsaw man was arrested late Thursday night after leading police on a chase and hitting three parked cars in a North Webster mobile home park.

Nicholas Gene Lee, 18, of 3439 S. Ind. 15, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:49 p.m. on charges of resisting/fleeing law enforcement, driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,000.

According to an accident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, North Webster Police Officer J.D. Ayres attempted to stop Lee’s vehicle near 312 W. Crystal Flash Road, North Webster.

Lee allegedly refused to stop and Ayres followed him through Mid-Lakes Trailer Park twice before Lee lost control of the 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass he was driving.

Lee’s vehicle first hit a parked car registered to Stephen L. Iden, Crystal Flash Road, North Webster. Then Lee’s car hit a parked pickup registered to Daniel R. Trofimchuck, also of Crystal Lake Road, North Webster, and pushed the pickup into the back of a car registered to Tabetha J. Pickett, Kuder Lane, Warsaw.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the North Webster Police Department.
