03-10-2000SOUTH BEND – After leading the Triton girls basketball team to a Class A state championship last weekend, senior forward Missy Nifong led the Area All-Stars to victory over the Metro All-Stars 96-88 in Thursday’s South Bend Tribune All-Star Classic.
Nifong, who scored 17 points against Rising Sun in the state finals, led the area squad with 17 points and three steals. Nifong hit seven field goals, including three three-pointers in the game.
The game, played at Wiekamp Center at Bethel College, marks the sixth consecutive win for the area team. Overall, the area team has won 12 of the 14 all-star games.
Nifong caps off an amazing end to her high school career, as she also won the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award.
