Whitko Boys Win Meet
At Wabash, Whitko’s boys cross country team won a Tuesday meet with Southwood and Madison-Grant.
Whitko finished first with a score of 37 and was followed by Southwood with 44 and Madison-Grant with 45. Whitko’s Jered Deckena had the Wildcats’ top time, placing fourth with an 18:26. Madison-Grant’s Brett Hamilton won the race with a time of 17:43.
Whitko’s girls team finished last with a score of 49. Madison-Grant won with a score of 27 and was followed by Southwood with 44. Southwood’s Amanda Veverka won the race with a time of 17:25. Whitko’s top time was turned in by Brooke Southworth, who finished second with a time of 17:56.

At Culver, the Warsaw Tiger girls soccer team improved to 7-0-2 with a 2-0 Tuesday win over Culver Girls Academy.
The Tigers started slow but got on the board first on a solo goal by Mandy Bruggeman. Jodi Wildman added a second goal from the top of the box in the second period. Sister Bobbi Wildman delivered the assist.
Warsaw’s junior varsity team (2-3-1) blanked Elkhart Memorial 3-0 on Tuesday. The Tigers delivered 15 shots on goal to two for Elkhart Memorial.
The first goal was scored in the 24-minute mark with Kady Clevenger breaking in from the left wing and scoring off a Hope Hart pass. Hillary Barlow scored her first goal of the season early in the second half, stealing the ball and streaking down the left wing and shooting the ball high in the corner of the net. Carlie Shaffer finished the scoring in the 50th minute off a cross from Kady Clevenger. Amanda Bonham anchored the Warsaw defense in its second straight shutout.
The varsity Tigers host Columbia City in a 4:30 p.m. Thursday match at the CCAC. The junior varsity Tigers have a 10 a.m. Saturday match at East Noble.

NorthWood’s varsity girls soccer team beat Plymouth’s junior varsity team in a Tuesday match.
NorthWood recorded 25 shots on goal compared to 12 for Plymouth.
Tara Collins and Jessica Speed had first-half goals for NorthWood, while Anne Brubaker added a second-half goal.
