AlumiBoom FAQ
Q: Do you offer international shipping?
A: No, sorry, not at this time.
Q: What do they weigh?
A: Approximately 0.6 g each.
Q: Will the stock tail motor wires fit inside the tubing?
A: Yes, easily. The 110 mm (extra long) boom is as long as a set of
stock wires will reach and still leave enough 'tail' to solder.
Q: $9 for two tiny bits of aluminum tubing? Can't I make my own?
A: Please do. Your hardware store likely sells K-S engineering
products. Get a pack of their 3/32 x .014 tube, cut it to length, debur
and polish the ends, and you're all set. Permanent magic marker is
great for coloring them. I'd rather be flying than making parts and
dealing with the post office anyway. Really.
Q: My AlumiBoom bent in a crash. I twisted it back, but it still has a
little curve in it. How important is it to be 100% straight?
A: Not at all. As long as the tail rotor thrust is perpendicular to that of the
main rotor, your heli will fly fine no matter what the shape the boom
has. Try flying it with a huge bend before you straighten it out (for
aesthetics) after a crash to test this. It works.
