I was surprised to see the KC balloon launch from the fairgrounds. 10 kt wind seemed a little too stiff for him, just right for me. Gybed my way south to sail under them. He can keep going when I run out of lake, but I can turn around and go upwind again.

Note the broken wind vane. Someone managed to cast a fishing lure up there & snap off the front of my windex. I dropped the mast & took a huge lure and 50' of 20lb line from the rigging. Wonder what the fisherman was after? He was well equipped for a 16' sailboat. Good thing he didn't snag it by the towing eye - I could have lost the whole boat.
